Adam started throwing hammer about two and a half years ago.
He has won three all Ireland club titles since he began hammer, breaking records in two of the competitions.
Adam has also won two Irish schools' titles and the Tailteann Games. In 2011, Adam traveled to Bedford in England to take part in the England AAA Championships. This is a competition with the best of Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales. He won setting a new championship record in the process.
In 2012 as well as winning Irish club and schools' titles, Adam was selected to represent Ireland in the International Schools Track & Field Championships which were held in Ashford, Kent. Adam was also selected as Captain for this team.
In Ashford, Adam was pipped for the gold medal by only 7cm. Adam is under age again next year for this competition and hopes to go one better.
