Mick Gleeson won two senior All Irelanmd medals with Kerry in 1969 and 1970. He also helped Kerry to an All Ireland Junior victory in 1967. A great forward he scored the second and vital goal in the 1970 All Ireland Final against Meath. He won four Kerry county championship medals with East Kerry as well as an All Ireland Club medal in 1971. He has seven East Kerry O Donoghue Cup medals to his name with his club Spa. A retired teacher in Killarney Mick founded his own political Party, South Kerry Independent Alliance. A county councilor, he is contesting the 2011 General Election for the Dail.
