Songs from the Boro

The launch of the latest Moyvane CD called "Songs from the Boro" took place in the Marian Hall on Friday, December 9th. The CD was officially launched by Weeshie Fogarty and is a celebration of the musical and football traditions of the village. The CD Costs €10 and proceeds will be donated to Our Ladies Children's Hospital in Dublin.
The CD was the brainchild of Jerry Brosnan, President of Moyvane GAA, and includes performances from Jerry, Eddie Stack, Eileen Cronin, Aine Cronin, Marie Mulvihill, Robert Stack and Eddie Walsh. 28 All Ireland medals are associated with the performers (23 Senior, 2 U21, 3 Minor).

This is a song that was written for Dainty Man's victory in the first Coursing Derby in 1930. The greyhound was owned by local blacksmith Tom O' Connor. Note: Dr. Jim Brosnan was born on the day that Dainty Man won the Derby.
