The 1967 Sensational defeat of Kerry away to Cork

by Weeshie Fogarty

As requested that 1967 Kerry team beaten by Cork in the final at the Cork Athletic grounds. 0-8 to 0-7. It was the game the late Eamon o Donoghue was brought out of goal near the finish to take the free, which he missed. Josie o Brien Kerins o Rahillys was brought on in goal and so lost his place on the Kerry Juniors who went on to win the All Ireland of that year, however interestingly Josie was also on the Kerry under 21 team and they lost to Mayo in the final following a re-play. So he played in goal that year for all three Kerry sides. Senior, Junior, Under 21. A great record.

Weeshie Fogarty was selected in goal following Josie o Brien who had now played senior and was barred from the juniors. They went on the win the final beating London away in the final.
